These Pink Oysters are so meaty and delicious you'd swear is was Bacon!

There are a couple of keys to making amazing mushrooms every time. First, it helps to tear or rip the mushrooms into pieces. This way there is more surface area for seasoning and browning. Second, always start in a DRY, HOT pan. Mushrooms have so much water. You will have a hard time getting them to brown in a pan with oil. Lastly, once they start to brown you can add your oil or ghee, then the garlic and herbs 1-2 minutes before you're done.
These Recipes can be made Vegan by substituting your favorite Oil for Ghee and Water for Stock!
Now that you know the tricks to perfectly cooking mushrooms we can apply them to this recipe for Pink Oyster mushrooms. We use this method when we are having mushrooms solo as a side, if we are having vegetarian (or vegan) Mushroom Tacos, if we need Mushrooms on pizza or flatbread, or for mushroom spaghetti. The possibilities are endless with this simple, tasty recipe.
Pan Fried Pink Oyster Mushrooms
Ingredients
Makes 4 servings
10oz Pink Oyster Mushrooms
1 T Oil or Ghee
2 ea Garlic Cloves
½ tsp 'alho & sal' (garlic salt - or ¼ tsp kosher salt)
1 T Water or Stock
Directions
Pre heat your pan and leave on Med High to sear Mushrooms.
Add Wushrooms to the pan and let them begin to brown - they will likely lose some water. Use a large enough pan to not over crowd or end up steaming your mushrooms.
Once your mushrooms begin to brown add your oil or ghee. This will make the mushrooms start cooking faster. Keep a close eye to not let them over brown.
1 minute before you reach your desired doneness, add the diced garlic.
When the garlic is aromatic - add a mixture of the garlic salt(or kosher) and stock(or water) to the pan to deglaze and evenly salt the mushrooms.
Eat these mushrooms on spaghetti, in tacos, on pizza or by themselves! Can be dressed up with fresh herbs or spiced up with diced peppers.
